By building your module to NTRAK specifications, you can use your module with other clubs all over the United States. There are even some groups in other countries who build NTRAK modules. We, as clubs or individuals, often join other modular 'N' Scale clubs, in order to enlarge the layout for special public, or NTRAK conventions.
With the scale size of N scale, 33 ft equals 1 scale mile, the average layout at a show is 3 to 5 scale miles. Often the long side is over a mile, allowing very long trains to be run, and viewed as a total and not always bent around a corner. The three track standard also allows for multiple trains to be run at one time, and in different directions.
