I was born in Alton, Illinois, a small city, right on the banks of the Mississippi. We learned to spell that word early on in life. My parents raised me to be an independent and free-thinking person.
They never restricted what I read and I read a lot as a child. If I wasn’t reading, I was hanging from a tree or some apparatus. My ambition, as a child, was to join the circus and be a trapeze artist. Fortunately, or not, I came to my senses and did a whole bunch of other things., from marketing for Doubleday Publishing in NYC, commercial insurance, life safety engineering, to today, Clinical Exercise. Along the way I earned a degree as a Charter Property and Casualty Underwriter and a BSA in Photography from the Maine College of Art.
My family, friends and travels have given me a rich and rewarding life. There is always something new to learn and see and there has never been a time in my life when I have been bored. Besides my work, I study Italian. Once a week, Anna Mauri patiently takes me through another lesson in that beautiful language.
I also study French, because we go to St. Barth’s every Winter and oftentimes I confuse the two languages.
Life is as much fun and as exciting as we choose to make it. I don’t know about you, but I love to smile and laugh! So... get with it.
