Breathing Techniques
 
Om is the sound of the Sun, the sound of Light.  It is the sound of ascent, and ascent has an upwards movement that uplifts the soul. Om represents both the visible and the invisible universe, earth, atmosphere, and sky, and speaks of their Oneness.  By the use of Om, a person can easily hear their own heartbeat, they can modify the pace of their heart, and even synchronize their heartbeat with a group

There are four levels of sound, which correspond to four phases of consciousness represented in Om.  To open, and bring your awareness through these levels of sound, do each of the following steps, for a comfortable duration, then open it up to the next---

0.  Begin by listening to the sound of your natural breath; after some time,
1.  Breathe in through the nose, breathe out through an open mouth whispering the sound Aaaahh....
     for a few breaths..
2.  Breathe in through the nose, and out through an open mouth slowly closing, Aauumm....
     When you feel ready,
3.  Softly offer your voice to the whispered sound--a more audible aum, as though only for you to hear.
     Stay with this for awhile, and then, 
4.  Set it free---let the tones go wherever they will, let them be as loud or as soft as they want;
     immerse fully in the giving nature of the sound
