DIfficulties with the rear sway: First thought it was IE like everything else that was installed on the car but nope. after some examination it looks like a Suspension techniques 19mm bar. The PO did some crazy bending with some bar stock and made crazy brackets to mount it and we werent about to put those back on so bushings meet bench grinder. My dad did this today to make the bushings fit into the stock mounting bracket.

Headlight buckets, wheel wells

most recently i sanded down the headlight buckets and have repainted them with wurth alloy wheel paint(pics coming soon) . I also replaced the water pump that I originally installed because It was a 320 pump. Do the fan pulley and crank pulley need to line up perfectly?????? mine dont and I’m a little worried

The front subframe

while i attend college at WWU my dad has been plugging away rebuilding various parts. The subframe has been completely stripped, painted with POR-15 and urethane bushings installed all around. The steering box has also been refurbished with new seals.

Where she sits now

Everything has been pulled from the car, including both subframes for rebuilding. Sitting in front of the car is an IE hollow saw bar that has been repainted with blue rust proof paint.

We rented a u-haul trailer again, borrowed a truck and drove back up to north bend. We got the car back and she looks great, with twice the amount of paint on the entire car the avus really pops now.

Picking her up....the first time

My dad and i picked up the car and trailered it home from north bend. Stopping at griot’s garage on the way home a coworker noticed a low spot in the paint above the right front grill. after looking over the car there were other ares that were low so back to u-haul, borrowing a friends truck and driving her 2 hours back to north bend for more paint.
