The next generation of outdoor industry fashion designers took center stage at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2008 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Taking a cue from the reality TV show "Project Runway," Outdoor Retailer show management invited five design students from across the country to take part in a 48-hour competition to showcase top emerging talent.

Called Project OR, this contest of creativity had all the trappings of a made-for-TV docudrama. Minus the mean-spirited angst and backstabbing intrigue, the program was produced as an online video in seven episodes and portrayed the students' journey through the process of crafting an originally designed new garment using materials from industry suppliers.
