It’s a custom in Greece, two weeks before the beginning of the f[e]asting period for Easter, to celebrate “Tsiknopempti” - a Thursday in which people go out and eat enormous amounts of roasted meat, because supposedly they will abstain from it during the period until Easter. Yeah right. We gathered at Kostas’ place in Hellenikon, an Athenian suburb, and we ate and drank so much... Long live the BBQ!
