Dogleg, linoleum and maple plywood. Shop drawings for fabricator.
Because I make public artwork as well as studio work I was intrigued by the Convention Center space, its public nature and its use by disparate communities of people attending for specific functions. Most people are not at the Center to look at artwork and I thought to use scale and unexpected materials to capture the attention of this particular audience.
I adapted my recent studio work of abundance imagery and fabricated with cut and pieced linoleum, a medium I first used on a floor design installed in 2007. You may look at both the surfaces (enamel, linoleum) and paper sections on my website to see related studio work.
