I make functional, wheel-thrown and altered pots using stoneware and porcelain. My pots are influenced by shapes and patterns found in nature -- seed pods, melons, leaves, branches, and water; as well as patterns found in textiles, industrial machinery, brick paths, and walls.

I’ve been learning about the art and process of
making and firing pots since 1996, studying with many different potters with different backgrounds and approaches to their art, including Bill Van Gilder, Kevin Crowe, and Joyce Michaud.

From 2001-2005, I was a Resident in the Art League’s Resident Program, in Alexandria, Virginia.

I now work in my studio at home. I’m also a member of the Lee Art Center’s Independent Study Ceramics Program in Arlington, Virginia.
