Here’s my advice- Listen to a few stories first.
There’s something specific we are looking for here- that weird idea you have, that hilarious or disturbing scenario you’ve been brooding over.
What we want:
Short Stories 500- 2,000 words.
Reprints and repods are swell. Multiple submissions too.
We generally accept fantasy/sci-fi/horror stories that are humorous , bizarre, gross or disturbing. Really dark, heavy pieces that have lots of disturbing images or language stand less of a chance of being accepted.
Please include word count and bio information along with your story in the body of the email. You may attach as an rtf or doc file instead but it’s slightly less convenient for us.
We currently offer 1.5 cents per word for stories 500-2000 words long. In some cases we will accept stories longer than 2000 words. If we solicit you for a story we usually negotiate a price that is higher than our standard pay rate.
Stories under 500 words (including 100 word Drabble stories) are published on a pro bono basis at this point.
Response time is 1-4 weeks. All submissions are responded to.
Drabblecast retains no rights to your work.
That’s about it- email stories or questions to drabblecast@yahoo.com

Insider tips:
Yes, we want good stories, but ultimately it comes down to how well we can make it work in audio.
Luke likes pretentious stories that make him feel smart for understanding them. He is pretty lazy and good for nothing though so he probably won’t get around to reading your story and it will wind up with Kendall and Norm in the first round.
Kendall likes stories about poop, superheroes and vapid, saccharine relativist philosophies. He doesn’t like stories about vampires, pirates or ninjas. Send them anyways though, because he’s fun to piss off. Goofy stuff that doesn’t take itself seriously will make his day.
Norm likes stories with aliens fighting each other. He likes other stuff too though.
