APRIL 2004 | this travelog documents my first trip to my natal ecuador in nearly twenty years . there was much catching up to do . there has been so much new development that i got lost in streets i once new well . once residential streets are now lined with shops and restaurants . there is more traffic than ever . the main cities have nearly doubled in population since i last saw them in my teens . the country has changed a great deal , but its basic character remains unchanged .
