The New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund hosted its Carrolton Station Download Celebration with Rolling Elvi and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Mike Mills of REM. Many displaced musicians came home to perform their tunes. Midsummer Mardi Gras rolled the next night. Liverpool’s Joe Topping came back to record, and on 8/29 11-year-old Jake spoke at Jackson Square. Bacco provided a feast for NOMRF’s Musicians’ Open House, and we donated a brass band van. It was a good week for the Fund that has assisted fellow displaced New Orleans musicians for two years now. (Some photos by Keith Marszalek: nola)
