D. C. Ride-a-thon
The Mission: Jim will ride from Clearwater, Florida up the Eastern Shore of the U.S to the International Myeloma Foundation Seminar in Washington, D.C. He will return via the Blue Ridge Parkway just in time to bring the wonder of mathematics to his middle school students.
The Dates: Leaving: August 1, Seminar: August 7th & 8th, Returning August 12
The Purpose: Raise funds for the International Myeloma Foundation and the Tampa - St. Petersburg Multiple Myeloma Education Group, all while satisfying something he didn’t know was on his Bucket List until he came up with this crazy idea.
Goal: $12,000 - a mile at a time. It is about 1200 miles up to the seminar, so a 1¢ pledge would be $12, or $24 if you want to support my getting back home. If you wish to be more generous, it would be most appreciated.
