Welcome to Yearbook

Communication Graphics (Yearbook) provides advanced experiences with advertising and print media, illustration and digital photography, including the production of the hardback yearbook, CD/video yearbook, and additional web design techniques.

Students will use the Adobe Creative Suite CS3 applications: Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign to illustrate, prepare photos and layout yearbook pages. Additionally, they will use Apple iLife iPhoto to store photo albums for use, and iMovie to create video clips for the video yearbook.

Students are expected to act as news reporters, photographers, designers, and cover all school events in rotation. Students are expected to work as a team to produce a high quality yearbook that their “customers” will value! Deadlines are critical. Outside work takes as much or more time than classwork.

Syllabus
Students will follow a curriculum designed by Walsworth Publishing Company. The final goal of the course is to publish a hardback yearbook following the basic requirements and standards for yearbooks. Students will also create a DVD yearbook to accompany the book.s
