SUPPORT THE ARROWHEAD CENTER FOR THE ARTS
The goal of the Arrowhead Center for the Arts Task Force (ACA) is two fold. First, the ACA is working with the School Board to address space issues at the high school which today negatively impact the arts program. Second, the ACA is working with the school to educate and enlighten the Lake Country Community on the value Arts based programs bring to a child’s education. Our motto is, “It Starts with the Arts” because we believe the Arts are a critical component of every child’s education, not just those pursing an Arts based career.
To help the School District address these serious needs, the ACA is chartered to raise private donations as a means to offset some of the cost while building community support for an improved school fine arts program. Arrowhead Union High School has a strong history of privately supported facilities development. Several Athletic and Academic programs have leveraged private funds to enhance students experience at Arrowhead. Its time for the Art programs to do the same.
To make a tax deductible donation, please go to www.arrowheadcenterforthearts.com, e-mail info@arrowheadcenterforthearts.com  or contact us at Tel: (262)370-1805. Together we can work to ensure the arts remain a component of our children’s education, now and in the future.
Remember, “It Starts with the Arts”.

The Cast of All Shook Up - October 2011

THANK YOU
Wisconsin Governor’s Mansion
Performance by South Select - June , 2010

“It was a real pleasure to meet you last night and to hear your
wonderful group perform. I heard more comments about the choir than I  did anything else at the reception! It was a fabulous highlight for
the evening, and I hope you and the students enjoyed your performance there, as well.”

The Arrowhead Choirs

Over 450 students participate in the choral music program at Arrowhead High School. The five choirs at Arrowhead include Treble Choir, Baritone Chorale, Select Ensemble, North Concert Choir, and a music theater troupe called The Broadway Company.

Students in the choral program perform a wide variety of choral music styles, and participate in madrigal ensembles, barbershop quartets and men's and women's octets. Arrowhead High School students appear frequently with the Wisconsin State Honors Choir.

Selected by The Lorenz Corporation to participate in a music theater project, the choir produced several professional recordings for Lorenz. The Arrowhead High School Choir  performed for the opening of Miller Park, Tommy Thompson's induction as the cabinet secretary for Health and Human Services, and for a Milwaukee appearance by President George W. Bush.

The Arrowhead Directors

Grace Bielski is a 2005 graduate of UW-Milwaukee.   Her college experience gave her many wonderful opportunities to perform and develop her understanding and knowledge of the art of singing and teaching. Upon her December graduation she was hired at South Milwaukee Middle School where she taught for three and a half years.  Grace is excited to be a new addition to the Arrowhead faculty for the upcoming 2009-2010 school year.  She and her husband, Chris, currently reside in Milwaukee.

Nancy Smirl Jorgensen earned a Bachelor of Music from Alverno College and a Master of Music from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. An Arrowhead High School choir director since 1984, she is the co-author of two books, Things They Never Taught You in Choral Methods and From the Trenches: Real Insights from Real Choral Educators. Nancy and her husband, Joel, have two daughters.  Older daughter, Elizabeth Jorgensen, teaches Creative Writing and Advanced Composition at Arrowhead High School. Younger daughter, Gwen Jorgensen, is an All-American runner, triathlete, and CPA.
