about the library media center VISION:
All students will be given the opportunities to access, evaluate, use, create and share information in an effective, ethical and independent level for the purpose of affecting positive change that supports the well-being of all people.
 
MISSION:
 1. Provide access to resources of all formats, both print and non-print which will support the various subject curriculums and the recreational needs of the student body.
 
2. Develop a school-wide collaborative instruction of information literacy skills that is embedded into the school’s curriculums and activities and ensure that both students and staff grow to become effective, ethical and independent users of information which will contribute to life long learning.
 
3. Develop a growing interest of reading and inquiry that can reach the diverse student body and their diverse learning styles and interests.
 
How important is the library media center within the school’s community?
The library media center is an instructional place that exists to support the various subject curriculums and is the one instructional site on campus that serves the entire student body’s academic and recreational needs. Check out:
 You may check out 3 books at a time.
 You may check out books for 2 weeks
 Please return all material before or on the due date at the circulation desk
 Reference books and magazines cannot be checked out
Overdue Books:
    Overdue books will be fined 10 cents per book/school day.
Lost Books:
    Lost books must be paid for by the individual at the original cost of the 
    book when purchsed
Library Pass:
    All students must obtain a specific pink pass from their teacher when 
    coming to the library during class time
Computer Use Guidelines:
 In order to use the internet, you must complete a signed parent/guardian agreement form issued and regulated by LAUSD.
 Please temporarily give your Student ID to the circulation desk in return for a computer # card. Use the numbered computer that corresponds to the numbered card. When you are done using the computer, return the computer # card for your Student ID
 During class time, the computers are to be used only for academic use. Thus, no games can be played.
 Appropriate internet surfing may be allowed during student break times.
 Students with academic needs will take priority.
 You are not allowed to download any file or game.
 Do not change any of the settings/backgrounds.
 Do not chat online
