2009 He also shot the 2nd unit of BEAUTIFUL KATE, an Australian feature film directed by Rachel Ward. The film’s cast includes Rachel Griffiths, Maeve Dermody, Ben Mendelsohn and Bryan Brown. NICK MATTHEWS did an honors degree in film at Flinders University before moving to Europe where he worked as an assistant on productions including the HBO miniseries BAND OF BROTHERS and Working Title’s ABOUT A BOY as well as numerous BBC productions. Since returning to Australia Nick has photographed feature films including; 2:37 (Cannes Film Festival, ACS Gold award) MODERN LOVE, (ACS Silver award) as well as the AFI best short film for 2007, SPIKE UP (ACS Gold Award) and the second unit of the Toni Collette thriller LIKE MINDS.
 
2009 He photographed US feature film BROKEN HILL in South Australia. The film is directed by Dagen Merrill (BENEATH) and produced by Christopher Wyatt (NAPOLEON DYNAMITE). The cast includes Academy award winning actor Timothy Huttton (ORDINARY PEOPLE), Alexa Vega (SPYKIDS) and Rhys Wakefield (THE BLACK BALLOON)
