Nick Hawkins is a writer and media editor with more than 15 years’ experience working for various City-based newswires. In September 2007, at the age of 37, he “retired” to sunny Bournemouth to pursue his dream of becoming a full-time freelance sports writer. At present though, Nick still works full-time for Dow Jones Newswires from his home office, and in his spare time writes for hotspur, Tottenham Hotspur’s official monthly magazine.
Nick Hawkins Freelance Sports Writer
Nick has written features in all of these issues.
The lifelong Spurs fan has been contributing articles to the magazine since November 2006, and has been penning the monthly ‘WHAT A SEASON’ feature since August 2007. He specialises in football memorabilia, and wrote an article on Spurs collectables which featured in the first issue of 2008. Other feature stories written by Nick in 2008 include; ‘Hat-Trick Heroes’, a look back at the Top 10 hat-tricks scored by the club’s players; and ‘Spurs On Tour’, an interesting delve into the   history of Tottenham’s end-of-season and pre-season trips abroad. For this he interviewed many fans at home and abroad, including legendary fan Morris Keston.
Nick has also recently interviewed 1960-61 double-winner Cliff Jones and former Spurs and England star Gary Stevens for stories set for publication later this year.
