Week in and week out I speak to many fellow spiritual warriors and healers and creatives to whom I also say THANK YOU for the great teachers you are in my life. Dindga McCannon’s show is still up at Hamilton Landmark Galleries, for example ( 212-281-7667, Kim Hamilton).
My wall-hanging of hers, called “LaBelle” because it evokes the three songstresses in their heyday, is among my favorite art possessions. I felt like a true collector when I bought it and even moreso when I saw the look on Kim’s face when I shared it with her to hang in the show. Go see this show, buy the handmade cards by the artist, invest in her work and make one of her pieces your own peace.
Today is Earth Day so I say Htp, Ache and Salaams to my fellow earth women and African Medicine Women, among whom Dindga ranks high and at the forefront. The connection is always.
See Dindga McCannon’s show at Hamilton Landmark Galleries in the Village of Harlem/ Somehow this old pic of Aunt’ Joy’s friends are similar to Dindga’s LaBelle, which I’ll post when I get it.
