The NZ Embassy hosted a V.I.P event in June 2008. The event was attended by Former Prime Minister Mori, currently Chairman of the Japanese Rugby Association and other important representatives of Japan’s national top league teams. Former All Black great and currently Head Coach of the Japan Rugby Football National Team, John Kirwan was awarded with the insignia of an Officer of The New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM) for services to mental health.
