North Huntington Beach Community Nursery School (NHBCNS) has been serving the needs of families in the surrounding communities since 1967. We are a non-profit parent participation preschool, where community, cooperation and friendship are fostered for both the child and parent.

We differ from a traditional preschool in that our parents participate in the classroom 2-3 times a month. Each family is a member of our co-op and helps operate our school. We hold monthly gatherings where we conduct school business, provide parent education, share questions or concerns, and generally get to know each other.

A co-op preschool benefits families in many ways. We provide a nurturing environment where parents and children develop strong friendships and a sense of community. Our members meet other committed, involved parents with whom they often maintain relationships long after the preschool years have passed. At NHBCNS, parents participate in the early education of their child and learn and grow themselves as they witness firsthand their child's first steps towards independence.
