Train Wreck

Mary Siders learned claw-hammer banjo back in the ‘70s, at the beginning of the old time music revival in the U.S.-sitting at the feet of the old timers--Wade Ward, Tommy Jarrell and others. She performed with the Lost World String Band. Her rhythm and phrasing help keep TRAIN WRECK on track. She thinks she is the engineer.

CW Bayer learned old time fiddle in Los Angeles during the 1970s--hearing it at the old time fiddlers meetings in Long Beach, California. He started the Northern Nevada Bluegrass Association during 1979 and the Bowers Mansion Festival during 1986. For decades he has played fiddle at local dances. He thinks he is the conductor.

Tom Dose was raised in caves deep in the limestone bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River at Lock and Dam 13. Daily the rhythm of the river and rails was incorporated into his soul. He learned the bass well and to do what he was told and to like it. He thinks he is the fireman.

Cindy Gray is that oddest of creatures--a big time promotor who can sing AND play. There’s more to know about Cindy than can be expressed here...you just have to visit www.sierracousticmusic.com   Lately, she’s calling it TRAMP. Apparently, this is not to be taken as a reference to morals or work. She thinks she is the newspaper boy.
