The 7 String Guitar is a very popular instrument in Brazil. It’s part of the Samba and Choro ensemble. Brazilian Music is also one of the richest and most influent styles in the world. While I was working with Giannini I decided to make a few changes on the traditional instrument. I made the neck a little bit thiner, the nut of 56 mm and the scale of 630 mm.
These changes adjusted very well to my style and they worked also for a lot of professional players from different musical backgrounds. If I kept the original measures it would be harder for the transition to the 7th string.
Another difference with the Brazilian guitar is that the Bartolex is way closer to the Spanish sound (more body, loudness and attack) than the Brazilian sweetness.
