So Minglu and I have been trained on the Top Down Scanner and have been working with it for a couple weeks--here is an abbreviated account:
1. training is simple, and scanner works flawlessly
2. Minglu and I jump in, and begin scanning big leaves the next day--but we realize that the scanner is increasingly washes all the images out!
3. pause--why is the scanner doing this?
4. ok, the scanner works again.
5. oh wait, now the program just won’t run and we’re getting errors in German.
6. it works again.
So basically, I think I am cursed because the scanner halts working the second I appear in front of it and then seems to be reborn the second I leave.
But on the bright side--The first ICTeenCast and the IC Teen Blog are online!!!!!!! You can find them at:
or just to listen click here:
Cha-cha-cha-check it out! Jill edited this one--and I think we are pretty dang entertaining!
It took us awhile to figure out how to present the podcast within the blog. At first we thought we needed to have a separate RSS feed for all the podcasts that would allow people to download in iTunes, while also just streaming the podcast within a blog entry. I wrote a simple RSS template (by wrote, I really mean I copied someone’s and tweaked it for our uses), but we were at a standstill since we could not physically implement it and the public library tech guy was on vacation. BUT THEN, eureka! Wordpress allows one to create categories and produces a separate feed for each category! So we just had to tag all the podcast entries into the podcast category and we’ve got our feed! (We also had to download a podcasting plug-in to make things go smoothly: podPress)
