Training Via Video Conferencing

An efficient method of delivering training to behavioral health personnel over time is online video conferencing.  Clinics thus far have chosen monthly or bimonthly appointments ranging from 1-2 hours, sometimes in small groups or with an individual.  It is even possible to have multi-site meetings.

Currently, primarycareshrink.com supports iChat (preferred), Skype, ooVoo, or iVisit.  iChat comes pre-installed on all Macs and is the best video conferencing platform  It supports up to 3-way video-conferencing.  An AIM (free) or MobileMe account (paid) is needed.  ooVoo, Skype and iVisit can be installed on a PC with a web camera.  ooVoo and iVisit support multi-person  conferences as well.  Both are free downloads but improved features such as multi-person conferences can be extra.

Training and program development via internet-based video-conferencing is a very efficient and effective use of resources.
