Alex Dodge, who originally hails from Boulder Colorado, and is currently a student at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg PA has been racing and training in the sport of Whitewater Canoe Slalom for the better part of six years. Before being bitten by the kayaking bug, Dodge, as friends know him competed in varsity alpine skiing and cross-country. While a fierce competitor, who someday plans on making the US Olympic Team, Alex will be the first to tell you “don't take life to seriously, its to short, to do anything else, and secondly if you can't laugh at life then your taking life to seriously.” Alex has represented the US as a member of the Jr. National Wildwater Team. He has competed in Africa, China, and has experience paddling around the world. A skilled athlete in any boat that he paddles, Alex is also a coach who uses the peer coaching system to help athletes of all ages and skill levels chase their own dreams of paddling excellence
