It’s Time
...for another Radiohead tour!  I’m anxiously awaiting announcements of their US tour this summer.  The last time they played stateside was in 2004 at the Coachella festival, but we couldn’t make it all the way to Cali.  It was the perfect show though..both Radiohead (my favorite) and The Cure (K’s favorite) were headlining.  Some of the genius of that music festival is on display in the upcoming Coachella DVD, out on Tuesday.

Last night, we saw Beth Orton at Webster Hall.  It was a good show (sold out).  We haven’t seen her in maybe 8 years.  She seems to have gotten over the stagefright that she had all those years ago, doing a little bantering with the adoring crowd.  People were kind enough to give her flowers and presents.  And one girl kept screaming, “We love you, Beth!”

The crowd was pretty mellow, so it made for a more relaxed experience than usual (jockeying for space and a good view).  Webster Hall seems to have added some more seating in the back of both the main level and the mezzanine since I’ve been there last.  No more dinky couches that only hold 2 or 3 people.  And the best news from the show is that they were filming it for DVD purposes!  There were at least 2 cameras from the soundbooth, and 1 or 2 more handheld ones on stage.  Shiny!
