Knit:fun
Some knithappenings from the past week:  My friend, J, who I’m teaching to knit, accompanied me to Knitty City on Thursday evening.  We were there to see a performance by the hilarious Christine Lavin, and to hear readings from the Knit Lit series.  It was a fun evening, full of knitters and laughter.  The authors on hand to read their stories included Naomi Dagen Bloom, Cathy Cooper, Jenny Feldon, Nilda Mesa, and Kay Gardner, among others.  The series co-editor, Linda Roghaar, shared the exciting news that there may be a Knit Lit I.V. (as in intravenous) in the plans.

The stars finally aligned on Friday and allowed me to visit Suss Design on Lafayette Street.  The only times I had passed by before, it was always after hours and the store was closed.  I could only stare longingly at the hand knitted items in the window.  Well, it is worth a visit!  Suss Design is a gorgeous shop full of both yarn and finished knitted items.  Things are beautifully arranged, and there is a comfy couch in the middle where your significant other can rest while you browse.  I really loved the little baby clothes, especially the little kimono-style wrap sweaters. No pics of the shop, unfortunately.  We needed permission from the manager but had no time to wait for it.
