We had guests this week, so very little was done. Time was spent housecleaning and sightseeing and eating out instead. Not to mention going to work in between.
After all the baby things I’ve been making, I’ve felt a distinct need to do something a bit more....complicated. So I again pulled out my Faux Russian Stole from Gathering of Lace. Using Dale Baby Ull in light charcoal and US#6 needles, I’m now on row 75 of a 95-row pattern repeat. But I’m supposed to do those 95 rows 5 times! So this will take a while.
Some time ago, I had a chat with a LYS-owner and asked her opinion of the yarn I’m using. She suggested that a merino yarn might be a bit softer. I thought I was using a merino yarn! After checking the label, I didn’t see “merino” anywhere on the Baby Ull label. But when searching the web to verify this information, most shops listed Baby Ull as a merino yarn. Can anyone verify this? Update: the Dalegarn site says it is merino, so hooray! I’m sticking to the yarn I have.
My sister just sent me this link about a treesweater. Awww.
