What is BBTUNES?
BBTUNES is an intensive one-day songwriting, singing and music production workshop designed for children of all ages.
Formerly Bullybeat, BBTUNES now forms part of the amazing array of bullying prevention programmes designed and delivered by award winning children’s charity beatbullying.
Established in March 2007, led by Kent based teacher, songwriter and singer Nathan Timothy, BBTUNES has already helped and inspired thousands of children.
The workshop is designed to enthuse children about the process of lyric writing, singing, music arranging and contemporary production whilst promoting a serious anti-bullying message.
“Children that take part in these workshops are not just taught how to sing and write a song together but they are also encouraged to express their thoughts on ‘bullying’ and its effects. By listening to one another, respecting their friends and working together as a team the children create something that has an immediate and lasting impact on their peers, the school and the community.

What the adults say about it...
“Nathan was absolutely excellent in the way he inspired the children and guided them through the process of composition”
Miss R Denyer, Year 5 Teacher, Brooklands Primary School, Greenwich
“This has been one of the best workshops that I’ve experienced in my 30 years of teaching. Excellent. Thanks”
Mrs J Coe, Year 6 Teacher, North Elmham Primary School, Norwich
“It was an extremely worthwhile day and was much enjoyed by the children. Knockhall would be very keen to work with Nathan again in the future”
Mr J Baker, Headteacher at Knockhall Community School, Greenhithe, Kent.
“The children were fully involved in the music making process and had an excellent experience. They’re proud of their achievement and very impressed by the end result, as am I! Thank you!”
Mr R Driver, Deputy Headteacher at Thorntree Primary School, Greenwich
“Having been a music teacher for some years I can see the importance of this project on many levels. Music is a strong medium to express thoughts and feelings more easily than talking alone. What I like most about the scheme is that the children's lyrics agree a message, that the school then takes on as it's 'anthem' which lives on way after the day is over.”
Mr S Barnard Dip TCL
“We had a fantastic time creating our own anti-bullying song, thanks Nathan. You've got my full support.”
Miss S Horwood, KS1 Teacher at Sheldwich Primary, Kent
“This is a thoroughly worthwhile project. Good luck”
Chris Green, Chief Executive, British Academy of Composers and Songwriters
“Music has the power to spread fun and positivity. Nathan Timothy harnesses both attributes with his Bullybeat project.”
