Our Day in New Haven

Well, all you folks back home can rub it in that we missed the greatest Astros game of the year. I know it was exciting. But we continue to have a great time.

I finally finished the video of our visit to Cooperstown. You can check it out on this page. Please do.

Today we took it a little easy and enjoyed the amenities of New Haven, Connecticut. We visited the Yale Museum of Art (see photos) and had lunch in a pub downtown. At sunset we went up to the top of East Rock to catch the vista. While Dad & Dale were preparing a gourmet dinner of pork ribs and corn-on-the-cob, I took Ruby for a lengthy walk around the park. The map above shows where we went. I think both Ruby & I were worn out when we got back to the house. Starting at Dale’s house (the red star), we walked in a clockwise direction. East Rock is a beautiful natural park along Mill River (Eli Whitney’s mill is upstream a little bit). A couple of youth baseball games were underway at the fields along English Drive, and we stopped and took in a couple of innings. We were gone almost 2 hours on our walk, but it just helped us work up an appetite for one of Dale’s most hospitable meals.
