Enid Baxter Blader and I are currently editing a forthcoming book and exhibition, presenting the politics, poetics, history, reclamation strategies, and communities living near to water in California.

Water, CA traces the history of California through paradoxical states and watershed realities- combined with the apocalyptic splendor of myths, the violence of dams and secrets of decay- that inspires artistic investigations into California’s Water. This project will create a new way of navigating California's landscape.  Erasing the traditional map, tied together by counties and towns, the state can be drawn by waterways, watersheds, reclamations, deprivations...connecting seemingly disparate bodies.

This is an experiment in geography, that encourages the mythological while integrating playful artistry with a clear understanding of sometimes complex histories and technologies.
