The Valley Quiltmaker’s Guild is scheduled for two full days of scrap quilting fun starting with the lecture “Successful Scrap Quilts... Everytime” and ending with the so-o-o- popular Slice ‘em and Dice ‘em Disappearing Nine Patch workshop. I’ll be seeing this guild the second week of June,

I arrived in Chicago on Wednesday... the sun was shining and I was wearing a medium-weight sleeveless fleece vest over a heavy cotton sweater. The weather went downhill from Wednesday to the closing of the show... but, we didn’t care! All the fun was inside at class or on the sales floor.

My daughter, Karen, and I have fallen in love (again) -- with a new book about BREADS. We share a great love for cooking, baking, canning, and buying cook books. She is better at everything except buying the books.

This group of quilters was so motivated -- high energy all day! Phyllis organized several impromptu ‘bonus’ techniques from the Slice ‘em and Dice ‘em Quilts book that kept us super-charged all the time. That woman would give the Energizer Bunny a run for her money.
