Nancy B. Austin, Psy.D
 
Nancy B. Austin, Psy.D, has been a child psychologist in New York for more than 20 years. After six years at the Center for Preventive Psychiatry and two years as Special Education psychologist in a Middle School in Westchester County, she completed the four-year psychoanalysis program at the Westchester Center for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.  She was the associate director of the Lucio Bini Mood Disorders Center in Manhattan for four years, which specializes in research, consultation, diagnosis and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders in children and adults.
 
Nancy Austin is co-author of Parenting a Bipolar Child: What to Do and Why, (with Dr. Gianni Faedda, New Harbinger Press, November, 2006).
 
Dr. Austin maintains a private practice, specializing in children and adolescents diagnosed with bipolar disorder and their families. She leads workshops for parents of  children diagnosed with bipolar disorder and other regulatory disorders.  Also, Dr. Austin consults with the special education departments of several school districts in the tri-state area, has addressed many parent support groups around the United States, as well as presented to clinicians in a variety of professional settings, both nationally and internationally.
 
Currently, Dr. Austin’s teaching and supervisory positions include Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University; the Child and Adolescent Program of the Westchester Center for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (WCSPP). She is a moderator for the Juvenile Bipolar Research Foundation (JBRF) listserv for psychotherapists.
