Hi, we are the NADYS. Newick Amateur Dramatic Youth Society. We are based in a village in East Sussex UK called Newick. We are all aged between 13 and 18. We perform shows once a year during the summer in the village hall, we also take part in NADS productions (the adult society, who we are a section of) for example The Wizard of Oz, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and at Christmas some of us will be appearing in Jane Eyre. We started in 2005 with a production in the Reading Room, The was 'After Midnight before Dawn, and The Life of Hercules-Page 1' In 2006 we performed 'Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles' And this Summer we have performed 'The Three Musketeers' directed by Lucy Bailey, where we learnt how to fence! Past Productions After Midnight, Before Dawn, 2005 Life of Hercules- Page 1 2005 The Hound of the Baskervilles 2006 The Three Musketeers 2007 Next Production undecided, more info in the near future, to be performed next summer Puppetry We also have a section who produce puppetry productions, they produced a sequence for Wizard of Oz, and the production of 'A Little Tin Soldier' directed by Amber Bailey!!!!!!!!! Footnote - During one performance of ‘Three Musketeers’ The Sussex Police presented the NADYS with a cheque for £500- as part of an initiative to encourage youth activities. Since then the Lady Vernon Trust has also made an award to NADYS to continue the development of this Youth Theatre work, well done NADYS!
