Natsch in Dong Jing

One of the nice things about Hong Kong are the many public holidays the Special Administrative Region is enjoying, as Hong Kong is following the most local as well as the most important Western holdays.

So, we are one of the few lucky places in Asia that enjoy Easter holidays and I used mine for a short pay a short visit to my cousin, who is currently working at the German school in Tokyo. Nice side-effect of this job: he was on vacation, too.

I was really looking forward to seeing him again, but did not expect a lot from Tokyo. Sure, it was exciting to go for the first time in my life to Japan, but besides that, I thought that Tokyo and Hong Kong would not be that different. Huge, developed Asian cities, with many skyscrapers.

But I should be mistaken. Hong Kong and Tokyo are actually ver different in character. Just a few impressions:

- The first and biggest one: people are unbelievable helpfull
and polite. We had four guys in their lunch break - asked for
the way to a restaurant - dedicating over ten minutes to us
in which one was calling the restaurant, two were comparing
mapes and the fourth one was taking notes... unbelievable
There is no question of sending us of, before they made 100%
sure, we would reach our destiny

- Tokyo is huge, huge, huge and is full of trees, trees, trees

- There are way less skypscraper than expected and neon-signes
are clutching to the buildings instead of hanging from
  buildings into the street

- As soon as you get out of the centre, there are no
skyscrapers but cute, little houses and you feel like in
  the countryside

- The night-life-streets are full with hour hotels

- Japanese writting looks totally like Chinese or not at all

- Japanese food is delicious (well, that one I already knew
  before ;-) )
