It may only be June, but it is just ridiculously hot here in Houston.  I’m just dying to escape the triple-digit temperatures and go somewhere cooler...like the center of a live volcano.

 

Instead, Anne and I managed to cash in our dwindling supply of frequent flyer miles and get tickets to Minneapolis.  They are currently going through a heat wave, bringing them high temperatures into the high 80’s!  I think their daily high is about 15 degrees below the Houston daily low - so we are off to see the Mall of America and eat at Tony Roma’s.  YES!

Latest show that I’ve been watching: Top Chef Masters.  Good to see real chefs after watching Hell’s Kitchen.  But I really dislike the hostess.  She’s useless, has a goofily-annoying smile, and she’s way, way too skinny for a cooking show (or for a human.)
