About Happ’s Pottery

About Happs Pottery and Winery
Hi there, I’m Myles Happ, and I would like to tell you about us.
I am an artist in clay, my father is an artist in wine, and together our businesses make the very successful Happs Vineyard and Pottery.

Fondly known around the region as Happs.

Right now you might be looking for ideas of what to do. Fortunately, this is one of the things we do, every day.

Happs is a rare. The unique pottery and winery combination is found nowhere else.

In the pottery you will meet my wife Jacquie, fellow potters Kim and David and myself. Together we keep our showrooms and workshop, well stocked and believe that we run perhaps the most successful, studio pottery gallery in Australia.

Our large unique bowls and serving platters are complemented by ranges of dinnerware, vases and  jugs to name a few specialties. And all our work is strong, decorative and very exclusive.
Our colour range is also exceptional, and is often one of the first features to be remarked upon.

There is, however, one sad fact; most of the work you see here, by now is probably sold and in homes and collections around the world. This is, of course, a positive reflection on the quality, affordability and exclusivity of our work.

If you come to visit we aim to provide a friendly intimate experience. With potters at work most weekdays, you are welcome to talk and experience the nitty-gritty, of how pottery is made.
We’ll always be making, glazing and firing and love to share our insights with beginners and experts alike.

Many people enjoy this sharing and closeness immensely.
And as pottery is a traditional memento or gift, like taking a photo, you could be taking home a long lasting reminder of your memories and experiences from your visit.

If you are concerned about getting any purchases home? Fear not! Packaging is no worries and our postal service is becoming more popular by the day

We also reward repeat visitors with our very successful loyalty program. And if you see something you like that you wish you had bought, we also respond to phone and Internet queries for our work by emailing out photos of current stock options.

And so, over years, homes throughout west Australia have become filled with Happ’s pottery.

As we also like to help refer other artists and galleries around the region. So Happs Pottery is also, a gateway to the hard to find Art and Craft of the region.
For it’s here you can also pick up a free copy of the Margaret River Artisans guide.

Now with all my passion I can’t forget to tell you about the winery.

Happs winery is arguably the most comprehensive wine tasting experience you could attempt in the region.
We are also talking about wine made for passion not profit.
As I mentioned earlier, my father is an artist in wine, he is also a well regarded grape grower and regional icon.

Dry or sweet, whites or red, fortified wines and rose are all made from the greatest selection of hand tended, estate grown, varieties in the region.

Of course, these can all be tasted for free. If you have the time and your palate is up to it.

I like to look at what makes the ranges truly special and different. Dad makes preservative free wines second to none and people make special journeys to buy fuchsia probably the biggest selling rose style wine in west Australia.
Happs Merlot is iconic and Happs Garnet a revolutionary sticky.

Dad however like all artists looks forwards. The Three Hills range is very much a product of his life’s work. Boutique and of exceptional quality, with gold medals to match their quality and exclusivity.

So,
Whether you’ve one day, or one week, we reckon you will find Happs a great start to your Margaret River experience.
