Lee Park Golf Club. Liverpool
Lee Park Golf Club came into being on the 30th of May, 1954. It was mainly the result of the vision and determination of two men. Dr Jack Tarsh and Mr Sol Bennett.
In June 1949 a meeting was held in Childwall Synagogue Hall and the Merseyside Jewish Golfing Society was born. The aim was to obtain a golf course and to join the Federation of Jewish Golf Clubs.
Finally, the first six holes were opened when Dr Tarsh drove off at the inauguration of the club.
Over the years there have been many ups and downs. The club is currently enjoying a thriving membership with a mature 18 hole course and wonderful social amenities.
