Gifted and Talented Program Placements
Parents who are interested in G/T placements for the 2012-2013 school year need to notify Mrs. Charla Phillips in writing or by email by March 16, 2012. G/T placement consideration begins with testing. If a child does not qualify through testing, or has already been tested, a team of the child’s current teachers will conduct a placement review. All placements for next year’s classes will be determined by the end of the third quarter, March 30th. After that, placements will be conducted at the end of the first quarter during the next school year.

The Wall is Being Built!

Choose Civility and earn a brick or paver. Civil acts that take a significant amount of time and effort, such as cleaning-up trash in the neighborhood or at a park, earn a paver. Small acts of civility, such as opening the door for someone who has a big load of books - or better yet - helping carry the books - will earn a brick. Ten bricks will earn a paver. The pavers will be placed on the stage wall and each one will represent a student or staff member who chose kindness. In September, Mayfield Woods bought a paver for the 9/11 memorial being built in New York to honor all the people who sacrificed so much.
We encourage everyone to Choose Civility, and want to recognize and thank those who do just that.

Quote to Remember

"Knowing is not enough;

we must apply.

Willing is not enough;

we must do."

-Johann von Goethe
