Calling All Gavilan Chapter Volunteers by Lorriane Kainuma The Gavilan Chapter is ready for a fun and event-filled year with a new and exciting Volunteer Program, and we’re counting on your support and participation. All of our activities and events are only made possible by many volunteers, including our board, who are willing to plan and do the work to make them reality. In exchange for your helping hands, you’ll get to meet many wonderful fellow equestrians, become eligible for the CDS Amateur Clinic drawing, win volunteer raffle prizes at our shows, and enjoy some good food, drink and camaraderie. 2008 Competition Clinic Is A Success by Rebecca Greening-Vignieri It was a rainy Super Bowl weekend in early February when the Gavilan Chapter members gathered at Osierlea to ride and audit the two day Competition Clinic. Our judges, Laurel Bruun and Natalie Lamping provided exceptional instruction on test strategies to the die hard riders and auditors anxious to get the inside track on the show season. After the first of the year, the rain just never let up and the Gavilan Chapter Board feared that most riders wouldn’t have enough time to prepare for a clinic. As the date approached more and more folks got on board and the two day event filled up.
