Murai, yes that is her entire legal name, was born in the USA, but has extensive experience outside of the US. She lived in Libya, Rome and London for twelve years. She studied art in Rome. Her art was mentioned in the London “Arts Review”. Some pieces of her art were selected for juried shows in London. Murai sold some pieces in a Knightsbridge gallery.

After returning to San Francisco she started an “Art to Wear” business. Murai designed painted and collaged coats that sold in Neiman Marcus, I Magnin and many boutiques. She traveled between New York, London and San Francisco. She sold coats, jackets, painted fabrics, folding screens, and fine art. She maintained this business for over ten years and had international clients.

For the past several years Murai has been busy perfecting computer and digital art and camera skills. She combines her love of color and texture with technical skill. She has been developing watercolor and mixed media pieces during this time. Her sense of humor and love of the world travel shows up in her art. Murai has traveled in Europe and Asia extensively and these motifs are found in her work.

Several years ago Murai developed some delightful creatures. She named them Quantum Critters®. The Critters show up in her work occasionally.

Murai opened her studio in 1995 for the public. She has been in two juried shows at CCSF. She has sold art through private salons. Her work is in collections in New York, Lake Tahoe, Paris, and Amsterdam.
