While enrollment drops in the Milwaukee School District, violence climbs. The number of suspensions for battery, for gang activity and for fighting all jumped between the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 school years. Police statistics on calls for help from schools seems so incredibly high that others question their accuracy – 11,142 in the last 180 days students are in school. This special report looks into the violence, asking key officials to discuss causes and solutions
