5-7  year olds     9:00 to 10:30

Fall, Winter and Spring sessions are 8 weeks long.
 Classes are one and a half hours long,  once a week and runs for 8 weeks.


The Winter Term begins Friday, January 9 and runs until March 1, 2009. 

Marchbreak workshops will be scheduled from March 16 to 20, 2009

The Spring Term begins Friday, March 27, 2009 and runs to May 31, 2009
No classes Easter weekend or Victoria day weekend

Descriptions:

ART CLASSES

5 to 7 years
Explore creativity through the combination of literature and art. Every class begins with a storybook to inspire the young artists. Then on to paints, paper or clay. Young artists will explore how to use colour, line, shape, form and texture to develop a foundation for self-expression in the ‘fun’damentals of art.

ART CLASSES

8 to 10 years,  
10 to 12 years
The children's classes explore different facets of drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking techniques appropriate to the age level. In past classes we have explored a great variety of artistic possibilities in clay work, plasticine sculpture, drawing, shading, ceramic painting, zoetropes, collage, painting, colour mixing, cartooning, fimo, mask making, junk sculpture, pen & ink, papier mache, plaster sculpture, carving, perspective drawing,comics, self portraits pastels, watercolours, acrylics, gouache, puppetry, shadow puppets, mobiles and we have held exhibitions.

SCULPTURE

9-12 years old
Expand into the third dimension. Create your own 3D artwork in this class. You will learn how to develop your ideas on paper and then make them real. Learn how to make armatures and build sculptures.

CARTOONING

9 to 12 years 
Create comics or cartoons with a professional illustrator. Students will be taken through various step, from idea to character development to finished drawings. Learn about expression, perspective, composition, storytelling and how to make creative mini-books. Students are sure to get beyond the basics in any style!
