Welcome to Our Site At John Muir Middle School, we have both a School for Advanced Studies and a Gifted & Talented Education (GATE) program. The two programs work together to create the best learning environment for our advanced students who exhibit the skills and desire to excel both in and out of the classroom. Students experience a continuous and progressive program from 6th grade through 8th grade in which they maintain a reflective journal, academic portfolio, and participate in team-building, challenging, and skill-developing outdoor field trips. We strive to find out how to make school more exciting for each student in our program! At John Muir, relationships are fostered that last long after students graduate from John Muir. Every student becomes a member of the GATE family!
