Selection of media for training should be done only while following the PBET Steps! Remember: the performance objectives should be pulling all the cars in the training train --not media. The objective should inform your choice of media for training delivery. All of this is discussed during the PBET Workshop. That said, the resources on this page may be helpful.
On this page we list various companies that can help with this. For the most part, these virtual classroom tools include a “white board,” audio, and interactive components.
Citrix Online offers three virtual classroom products, catered to differing sizes of the meetings. None of your participants need any special purchased software. The least expensive package is good for up to ten participants, certainly large enough to cover the needs of most training classes. That product is called GoToMeeting®. There is no “white board” but you can share any application on your desktop, ie., PowerPoint, Word, etc. Cost: US$39/month with annual plan = unlimited meetings with up to 15 people. In addition, standard long distance telephone rates apply for the audio portion of the conference; either the caller pays, or you can use a toll-free option. Check it out. (Information and Pricing Accurate as of Jan 2010.)
Elluminate VOffice! is another option to consider. This offers a white board and other collaboration features. As with the others, there are at least three varieties of the package. Pricing here includes audio via the web. Cost: US$199 a year for unlimited meetings with up to ten people. [$16.58 / month] Check it out. (Information and Pricing Accurate as of Jan 2010.)
WebEx White board and a variety of collaboration features. Check it out.
DimDim White board and a variety of collaboration features. Three of their products are listed below. NOTE the FREE product for 20 person meetings! Also available, a classroom product (not shown below). Check it out.
