PBET Steps
It is more likely that performance-based training will be created if the performance improvement process is followed. In the PBET Workshop, this process is called “the PBET steps.”
These steps are remembered by these key words:
1. Identify the performance problem and the best solution
2. Analyze the job, tasks, goals, and performers related to the problem
Assuming that training has been identified as the best solution, then...
3. Design the training
4. Develop the training
5. Pilot the training
6. Implement the training
7. Evaluate the training

The seven steps are remembered using the mnemonic, I Add Pie.
