Mr. Killin’s Study Skills Pages

In school we are taught a good deal about different content and subject areas. From arithmetic to zoology, we spend hours learning the content of the classes we take, but once we move out of the most primary of grades we seldom hear anyone talk about understanding the learning process itself. Once a student learns to read, we take it for granted that they will learn to read in the many ways it takes to become a successful metagognitive learner. Study skills are the skills needed to allow students of all ages to reach their ultimate potential by providing them them with the techniques help them retain information and make connections across areas.

Study skills consist of:

Reading skills guided by purpose
