Happy Birthday Nigeria!  We are celebrating independence day.  This country rich with resources, cultures, and people turned forty-seven today.  Amira is off of school and we are enjoying a quite day at home.  I was expecting some sort of celebration, especially living in the capital city.  The city of Abuja also seemed to be enjoying a quite day.  I found it nice to spend a holiday with some quiet ...much different than commercialized America.  I began to wonder what Christmas will look like.

 

Although it was a holiday, Mike had a very exciting meeting today.  This summer, Mike attended a training orientation for the Timothy Leadership Training (TLT).  This five-manual curriculum equips people to faithfully live their Christian walk practically. Mike explained TLT to some key leaders here in Abuja and asked these seasoned pastors who might be interested in something like this, thinking of pastors outside of this group.  He was ecstatic when the pastors around the table jumped at the opportunity!  So today this group met for the first time, engaged in fruitful dialogue, and committed to meeting together five more times to learn and live out Stewardship in God’s creation.
