Math has been a very enriching and challenging class this year. I feel I have really learned a lot. At times, I have struggled with instructions, and guidelines. However, I still feel I have done well in general. One of my favorite math projects was the Electrical Device Presentation. My partner and I taught the class about the electric motor. This project really forced me to learn. I had to become an authority on the electric motor, so that I could answer the classes questions! For the presentation I brought in a camera that allowed me to show the motor on the big screen. I also brought in a small remote controlled helicopter, and numerous motors taken apart in different ways.
For the electrical motor presentation, I had to gather information from many sources. One of the many difficulties I had was analyzing all this information and separating the true from the false.
Learning about a motor will definitely help me later on in life. Because the motor is an integral part of many systems, the knowledge I gained will not only help me with the career at High Tech High, it will help for the rest of my life.
One of my other projects was the Romeo & Juliet Electricity Project, for this project we had to take a scene from Romeo and Juliet and Transform it into a playable golf course. Here is a picture of our final project:
