05PRO LTD - History
Back in the mid 90s, Vestax was on the forefront of the scratch DJ scene. By designing a crossfader with an adjustable curve, a whole new bag of tricks was opened. The PMC 05PRO was born and the game was never the same.
After the success of the veritable 05PRO, Vestax, with the aid of DJ Qbert, decided to one-up themselves by creating a modified 05. The headphone cue was moved to clear space around the crossfader, the pans and master volume were changed from knobs to faders, and a master/cue switch was added. The “Vestax 05PRO Qbert Limited Edition,” or more simply, the “05 Limited” was born. This mixer became Qbert’s mixer of choice and very few were ever produced. One hundred gold on gold, fifty red on black, fifty blue on black, and a re-issue in 2007 of one hundred black on orange editions labeled the 05PRO-Q were all that were produced. (To my knowledge.)
I’ve always had an affinity for these mixers, and have brought a few back from the grave, which is why I decided to build these faceplates. Now you can make 05LTD look new again.
Each quality plate is made of black anodized aluminum and is silkscreened in light gray. Keeping with the mixer’s limited status only 45 of these gray on black plates will ever be made.
